The project team has conducted:
- An analysis of the education system in Akmola region, identifying key problems such as educational inequality, insufficient material and technical base, lack of qualified teachers, as well as problems related to regional differences in the quality of education;
- The analysis identified that Akmola region demonstrates one of the lowest educational results in the country, especially in mathematics, science, and reading literacy, with a significant gap between urban and rural schools.
The project team proposes to:
- Develop individual work plans for each target school, including monitoring of their implementation and annual adjustments based on data;
- Introduce the concept of “continuous professional development of an educator” into the legislation, which will allow the inclusion of various forms of support for the professional competence of educators, such as online courses, coaching and mentoring;
- Improve the per capita financing, taking into account the coefficient for target schools, which will improve the material and technical base and learning conditions;
- Introduce the mandatory provision of individualized child development reports to parents and develop mechanisms for schools to engage with local communities;
- Introduce legislative amendments, including the draft laws “On the Status of Educators” and “On Education”, aimed at eliminating gaps in legislation and ensuring the continuous professional development of educators.
