Maqsut Narikbayev University welcomed Marcel Fortuna Biato, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan. He delivered a lecture as part of the “Applied Diplomacy” course.
The Ambassador shared his extensive professional experience and highlighted the growing dialogue between Astana and Brasilia. He emphasized Kazakhstan’s role as a middle power in international affairs and pointed to opportunities for deeper cooperation between Brazil and the countries of Central Asia. The diplomat also stressed the importance of clearly identifying the real potential for collaboration between states.
“Meeting with the students showed me that many young people are genuinely interested in learning from the experiences of other countries. We discussed the similarities between Brazil and Kazakhstan, as well as potential areas for cooperation. We also exchanged views on a wide range of topics—from agriculture to aeronautics,” said Marcel Fortuna Biato.
It is worth noting that Brazil is Kazakhstan’s leading economic partner in South America.
