Republic Day: MNU Staff Receive State and Ministerial Awards

The achievements of Maqsut Narikbayev University staff have once again been recognized at the national level. On the eve of the Republic Day, they were presented with high state and ministerial honors.

Emeritus Professor Tolesh Kaudyrov was awarded the Order of “Parasat.” The state award was presented on behalf of the President of Kazakhstan by the Minister of Justice, Erlan Sarsembayev. This order is conferred upon distinguished figures in science, culture, literature, and the arts, as well as public and government officials who have made a significant personal contribution to the development and enhancement of the nation’s spiritual and intellectual potential, and for active work in protecting human rights and social interests.

Tolesh Kaudyrov, Doctor of Law and Professor, is a prominent scholar in Kazakhstan and abroad. He made a substantial contribution to the development of the country’s legal system, participated in drafting the first Constitution of Kazakhstan, and witnessed the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the Kazakh SSR. He has dedicated more than 35 years to education, nearly half of which he has spent as part of the MNU community.

The Ministry of Justice also recognized the merits of Emeritus Professor Ramazan Nurtayev, who received the ministerial medal “Enbek Ardageri” (Veteran of Labor). This award is given to individuals from various sectors of the economy who have reached retirement age and have more than 40 years of professional experience, including at least 10 years in one field, as well as those who have achieved outstanding results in their work.

Ramazan Nurtaev, Doctor of Law and Professor, has devoted nearly half a century to academia 28 of those years as part of MNU’s faculty. He is a renowned legal scholar specializing in modern issues of criminal law and criminology. His academic record includes mentoring over 20 candidates of legal sciences, 4 PhD graduates, and publishing around 160 scholarly works.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Board Talgat Narikbayev was awarded the Order of “Kurmet.” The state award, presented on behalf of the President of Kazakhstan, was conferred by the Akim of Astana, Zhenis Kassymbek. The Order of “Kurmet” is awarded for significant contributions to the development of the economy, social sphere, science, culture, and education, as well as for exemplary service in public institutions and active civic engagement.

Talgat Narikbayev has led Maqsut Narikbayev University since 2007. Under his leadership, the university has undergone major reforms, reaching a new stage of development. He has also served as a member of the Public Council of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan and as a deputy of the Astana City Maslikhat. Currently, he chairs the Council of the League of Academic Integrity.

It is worth noting that earlier, MNU faculty members also received state awards commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
