The next course of the Euronews Academy has begun at Maqsut Narikbayev University. Twenty-five professionals from domestic media outlets are currently undergoing training in the Industry Journalism module.
Renowned experts with international experience in the media industry have been invited to strengthen the professional competencies of journalists and media personnel. The course covers the fundamentals of industry journalism, multimedia storytelling, investigative journalism and analytical techniques, business journalism and economics, as well as journalism on sustainable development. Among the lecturers are Jeremy Fleming-Jones, Editor-in-Chief of Euronews and Head of the European Union News Department; Bojan Brkić, Head of the Euronews Office in Astana; and Andra Miron Diaconescu, Editor-in-Chief of the Euronews Office in Romania.
It should be noted that the Euronews Academy courses are aimed at developing professional skills in journalism and media, offering students exclusive access to the TV channel’s educational programmes and internships, along with practical knowledge from leading international experts. The project is being implemented within the framework of a memorandum between Euronews, the Media Damytu Qory Corporate Foundation, and universities in Astana, with Maqsut Narikbayev University designated as the course base. Previously, MNU students and Kazakhstani media managers have participated in the courses.
