A guest lecture by George Panamthundil, the Apostolic Nuncio and Ambassador of the Vatican to Kazakhstan, took place at Maqsut Narikbayev University. The event was held as part of the special course Cross-Cultural Communication.
In his lecture, the highest diplomatic representative of the Holy See spoke about the history of the Vatican and how its traditions have adapted to different cultural contexts. George Panamthundil also highlighted the importance of understanding, respect, and dialogue as key elements that unite nations and faiths. He also answered questions of the students majoring in Tourism and Hospitality.
“I love this campus very much because I see very happy faces of students. That is a good sign that learning is giving them a joy. About the class today, I am really impressed about the questions from different angles, which shows their ability to think in many directions. I encourage students to always keep in mind that each person is an imprortant person. I also urge them to become true professionals and never lose sight of their values,” said George Panamthundil.
Kazakhstan continues to strengthen its dynamic cooperation with the Holy See. In 2022, Pope Francis paid a state visit to Astana, and in January last year, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev made his first official visit to the Vatican.
