A workshop on the effective use of artificial intelligence in journalism was held at Maqsut Narikbayev University. AI strategist Nick McFly spoke to media professionals about the benefits of cutting-edge technologies and emerging platforms.
The event brought together around 50 journalists representing nearly 30 media outlets. Nick McFly demonstrated advanced data mining techniques, introduced relevant AI tools, and shared successful case studies implemented in various newsrooms. According to the expert, the journalist of the future is not someone replaced by AI, but someone who skilfully leverages AI tools while preserving and enhancing essential human qualities. Just last week, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasised that the coming transformations offer new opportunities and limitless prospects for genuine journalism.
It is worth noting that Nick McFly is a seasoned expert and serial entrepreneur specialising in AI-driven business transformation. He has delivered over 500 workshops for both Kazakhstani and international companies, trained more than 1,500 specialists, and implemented numerous AI projects.
Workshop participants also received practical recommendations on how to effectively integrate artificial intelligence into their daily work. In addition, they took part in an intellectual and entertainment quiz in honour of Media Workers’ Day and explored the university’s facilities.
