On February 22, 2024, Maqsut Narikbayev University hosted an international seminar on the topic “The Role of Trade Unions in Political Transformation: A Comparison of Poland and Kazakhstan.” The event was dedicated to analyzing the experience of the trade union movement in the context of socio-political changes and the interaction between civil society and state institutions.
The main speakers from Poland were Sławomir Adamczuk, Head of the Office of the National Commission of the Polish Trade Union “Solidarność,” representative of Polish trade unions in the European Committee for Social Dialogue and the European Trade Union Confederation, and Barbara Śurdikovska, Legal Adviser to the National Commission of the Polish Trade Union “Solidarność” and expert of the European Trade Union Institute. Kazakhstan was represented in the discussion by Doctor of Law, Professor Nikita Leonidovich Lyutov, and PhD, Associate Professor Muslim Khasenov.
