Maqsut Narikbayev University hosted a guest lecture by Latif Huseynov, Judge of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). He delivered a lecture on the topic The Right to be Forgotten and the Protection of Personal Data: European Standards in the Practice of the ECHR.
Latif Huseynov shared with students practical techniques of legal drafting in line with European standards. He also analysed specific legal cases from the ECHR’s jurisprudence, emphasising the correct legal presentation of arguments. During the Q&A session, students were able to explore the details of the cases discussed and consider their applicability within Kazakhstan’s legal framework.
It should be noted that Latif Huseynov is also a professor, Doctor of Laws, author of books and publications on international law, and a member of the Venice Commission. Earlier, MNU had the honour of welcoming Claire Bazy Malaurie, President of the Venice Commission.
