Students in the capital were urged to take an active role in fighting the spread of drugs. Maqsut Narikbayev University hosted an event on Reducing the Factors Leading Students into Drug-Related Environments.
The event was held as part of the Law and Order Concept and brought together around 300 participants, including school students from Astana. Chairman of the Board of MNU Talgat Narikbayev welcomed the audience and emphasised the importance of uniting society in the fight against drug threats.
Speakers included First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan Baurzhan Alenov, seven-time Guinness World Record holder Sergey Tsyrulnikov, famous imam Nurlan Asanov, journalist Dinara Akylzhanova, and Vice President of the National Kyokushinkai Karate Federation Sairanbek Abilkairov. They stressed the need for young people to engage in a systematic fight against the promotion and spread of drugs. In addition, Director of the MNU Institute for Constitutional and Political Studies Aliya Orazbayeva presented the student project Zhauap Ber.
The event also featured a dynamic demonstration of law enforcement capabilities. Service dogs from the Ministry of Internal Affairs showcased flawless obedience skills and an example of the detention of a criminal. The fighters of the special forces unit Arlan performed impressive demonstrations highlighting their high level of training and teamwork.
It is worth noting that more than 4,600 drug-related crimes have been recorded in Kazakhstan since the beginning of the year.
