A certificate awarding ceremony was held at Maqsut Narikbayev University for faculty members who successfully completed the Basic Professional Development Programme. This marks the graduation of the first cohort under the initiative, which was launched in pilot mode as part of the Professional Development Programme (PDP) project.
The programme aims to familiarise new faculty with the academic standards and quality requirements of education at MNU. The course comprised four modules: Active Learning (creating an engaging educational environment), Assessment (establishing a system of objective and supportive evaluation), Content Design (developing an effective training course), and Psychology of Teaching (understanding the psychological aspects of student interaction). The training was conducted over a three-month period.
It is worth noting that the course was delivered by experienced MNU experts — Provost Sergey Pen, Head of the Quality Assurance Office Ansar Utegenov, and Senior Lecturers Hank Frenken and Vladimir Poshatylyuk. The Basic PDP project represents a significant step towards the systematic development of MNU’s academic capacity and the cultivation of a culture of continuous professional growth.
The knowledge and skills acquired enable instructors to employ modern teaching methodologies and develop high-quality educational materials aligned with international standards.
