At Maqsut Narikbayev University (MNU), the implementation of practice-oriented initiatives aimed at developing students’ career competencies is ongoing. Students of the Higher School of Humanities recently took part in employment and interview self-presentation workshops designed to strengthen their professional skills.
The first workshop was conducted by Marzhan Maksalamova, an expert and consultant at Astana Hub and Head of the HR Center at TSARKA Group. She spoke about career development prospects and employment opportunities. During the session, students learned about current labor market requirements and received practical guidance on CV writing, developing a professional LinkedIn profile, and preparing effectively for job interviews.
The second workshop, titled Self-Presentation in an Interview: Voice, Delivery, and Confidence, was delivered by speech and public speaking coach Zyama Kairzhan, a member of the CIS Speakers Association. Participants explored the key principles of effective self-presentation and building a strong professional impression during interviews, with particular focus on voice control, delivery, nonverbal communication, and confidence when interacting with potential employers. The event was held in an interactive format and included practical exercises and analysis of real-life scenarios.
The expert-led workshops represent an important contribution to preparing students for successful professional development and enhancing their competitiveness in the labor market.
