Maqsut Narikbayev University student Nurlan Kuryshbekov has been named one of the winners of the national OQ STARTUP competition for the best projects among student repatriates (kandas). The final stage of the competition took place as part of the Forum of Scholars-Repatriates in Astana.
The competition, organised by the Otandastar Foundation under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, brought together more than 50 kandas students studying at universities across the country. Participants presented diverse projects in the fields of science, culture, IT, business, media, volunteering, as well as creative and social initiatives. The winning projects were those of International School of Economics student at MNU, Nurlan Kuryshbekov, and Almabek Beksultan, a master’s student at Nazarbayev University.
It is worth noting that earlier, MNU student Tomiris Kaniyeva also became a winner of a London Stock Exchange Group competition.
