Opening of the Research School of Public and Private International Law

On January 18, 2024, Maqsut Narikbayev University held the official opening of the Research School of Public and Private International Law. The mission of the new scientific school is to promote knowledge and conduct research in the field of public and private international law. Among the recent achievements of the school is the publication of the practical guide “Commentary on the Norms of the Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Field of Private International Law” in Russian and Kazakh, authored by PhD, Assistant Professor of the Department of International Law, Nurzhan Sergaliyevich Yeshniyazov. Currently, work is underway on two major projects: “Handbook on Kazakhstani Law of Treaties: Collection of Instruments and Materials” and “International Encyclopedia of Laws. Private International Law. Kazakhstan.”

The research school actively develops academic and practical activities, organizing research seminars, round tables, and conferences, as well as training qualified specialists in international law. Special attention is given to supporting students: members of the school conduct training sessions in preparation for prestigious international law competitions — Jessup Competition, Vis Moot, Pax Moot, Jean-Pictet Competition — and organize debates within the Lex Fantastica club.

The Research School of Maqsut Narikbayev University is open to collaboration and invites everyone interested in issues of public and private international law to engage in cooperation. The school is ready to provide high-quality research, expert consultations, and to contribute to the development of scholarly initiatives in this field.
