
A meeting of the Dissertation Council was held at Maqsut Narikbayev University, where council members reviewed the doctoral thesis of Zarina Amanzholova, a PhD candidate in the Law programme.
Her dissertation focused on the challenges of realising economic and social rights during a state of emergency, with particular reference to the Covid-19 pandemic. Zarina Amanzholova presented the findings of her research and responded to questions from both council members and visiting professors from other universities. The session was broadcast live on the official MNU Facebook page.
Zarina Amanzholova has been pursuing her doctoral studies since 2022. She brings 17 years of experience in the judicial system and currently serves as Chief Consultant in the Justice Quality Monitoring Department of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan. She is an alumna of KazGUU (now Maqsut Narikbayev University, Class of 2008) and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Class of 2015).
Following the defence, the Dissertation Council resolved to award Zarina Amanzholova the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). It is worth noting that Maqsut Narikbayev University also offers a PhD programme in Economics.
