Maqsut Narikbayev University (MNU) hosted a roundtable discussion dedicated to improving administrative legislation in the field of road traffic safety. Participants examined ways to enhance the effectiveness of traffic accident prevention measures and to promote a culture of responsible driving.
The event brought together representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, as well as members of the university’s faculty. The roundtable was organized by the MIND Research and Analytical Center. During the discussion, MIND experts presented the results of a comprehensive analysis of fatal traffic accidents.
It was noted that Kazakhstan has seen a sharp increase in the number of road traffic accidents for the second consecutive year. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, more than 19,000 accidents were recorded across the country in just the first seven months of this year. Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs highlighted the importance of the expert insights presented and emphasized their value in developing effective measures to improve road safety.
In addition, participants agreed on the potential for holding preliminary discussions of legislative initiatives with representatives of the academic community on the MIND Center’s platform.
