State and Religion: Lecture by French Diplomat Held at MNU

Maqsut Narikbayev University hosted a guest lecture by Jean-Christophe Possel, Advisor for Religious Affairs Adviser at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The diplomat spoke on the legal and political foundations of French secularism.

During the lecture, he addressed the pressing challenges facing modern French society in the field of interfaith relations. Mr. Possel offered a comprehensive analysis of the topic from both religious and political perspectives. The lecture was attended by students of the International Relations programme.

It is worth noting that Jean-Christophe Possel is visiting Kazakhstan to take part in the 8th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. This significant event, held under the theme Dialogue of Religions: Synergy for the Future, opens tomorrow in Astana.
