The academic community continues to actively discuss the draft of the new Constitution. A dialogue platform featuring experts and students was held at Maqsut Narikbayev University.
During the discussion, organized jointly with the Akimat of the city of Astana, members of the nationwide coalition “For the People’s Constitution of a Fair and Progressive Kazakhstan!” delivered speeches. They shared the results of the Constitutional Commission’s work and explained the provisions of the draft new Basic Law. The Chairman of the Astana city branch of the Respublica party, Chingiz Tusupbayev, presented a comparative analysis of the current and proposed new Constitution.

“In the initial version, certain provisions were formulated in a general manner. In the new version, the mechanisms for implementing the norms are specified in greater detail, including the protection of personal data, digital rights, and the regulation of the institution of marriage,” said Chingiz Tusupbayev.
The dialogue platform was held as part of preparations for the national referendum. Members of the coalition encouraged participants to take an active part in the vote and express their civic position. They also answered students’ questions.

“The main priority of the Constitution is education and science. It is important for students to know their rights, and the new draft opens up broad opportunities for development, quality education, and participation in scientific activities,” emphasized the Executive Director of the Paralympic Training Center, Abdusaid Nazarov.
It is worth noting that MNU had previously hosted a number of events dedicated to discussing the draft of the new Basic Law.
