A three-day seminar titled “Töte Zhazuğa Töte Zhol” was held at Maqsut Narikbayev University. Faculty members and staff of the university mastered the alphabet developed by the Alash intellectual Akhmet Baitursynov.
The seminar was conducted by Almas Zhumagali, Assistant Professor at MNU and Candidate of Legal Sciences. The initiative was prompted by his study of early legal texts written in the Töte Zhazu alphabet (direct script). The purpose of the event was to analyze the historical, linguistic, and scholarly significance of the alphabet.
During the seminar, participants became familiar with the graphic features and orthographic norms of the script and studied practical methods for reading academic texts. It is also worth noting that in the new semester, MNU students have the opportunity to take a course in the Arabic language.
