A group of international students from Maqsut Narikbayev University met with the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, at the Palace of Independence in Astana.
The meeting took place as part of the International Forum of Strategic Partners Kazakhstan: The Territory of Academic Knowledge, which brought together leaders of leading foreign universities and representatives of international ranking and accreditation agencies. President Tokayev wished the students success in their studies and posed for a commemorative photo with them.
Currently, MNU hosts 223 international students from nearly 30 countries. Among those who met with the President were Manel Yaqubi (France), Fadli Banurea (Indonesia), Margarita Pugachev (Germany), Olivia Mazurek (Poland), Furia Nigina (Japan), and Isabelle Emilie Melliard-Smith (United Kingdom). As Olivia Mazurek noted, Kazakhstan offers a high quality of education:
“I am studying at MNU under a dual-degree programme in partnership with University College London. I had the option to study in Kazakhstan, Estonia, or Latvia, but I ultimately chose Kazakhstan. I never expected to have the opportunity to meet the President — it is a great honour for me,” said Olivia Mazurek.
It is worth noting that earlier, MNU students also met with the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb.
