Maqsut Narikbayev University has joined the nationwide project “Ұлттық диктант” (National Dictation), a large-scale initiative that began across Kazakhstan on 5 September this year.
As part of the project, around one hundred MNU students and staff simultaneously took part in the dictation written in the state language. The text was selected from the works of Akhmet Baitursynov, the founder of Kazakh written language and an outstanding educator. The event was organised at the initiative of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the International Society “Qazaq tili”.
“Our university is pleased to support the ‘Ұлттық диктант’ project and contribute to strengthening the status of the Kazakh language. This is an important initiative aimed at developing writing accuracy and literacy. Today, native speakers of the language took part in the dictation, and soon those who have learned Kazakh as an additional language will also have an opportunity to test their skills,” said Jamila Bopurova, Dean of the School of Liberal Arts at MNU.
It should be noted that the next large-scale dictation at MNU will take place on 14 November this year.
