A student of the International School of Economics at Maqsut Narikbayev University, Yelzhan Alimkul, won second place at the UNDP Regional Case Championship. The competition, focused on developing innovative solutions to counter digital and gender-based violence in the university environment, was held in Astana.
The championship brought together 30 students from universities in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Participants were selected from among UN Sustainable Development Goals Ambassadors and members of UNDP educational initiatives. The event was organised as part of the global campaign 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence by the Kazakhstan office of the United Nations Development Programme, with the support of the Government of Japan.
During the championship, participants worked on a real-life case related to gender-based violence.
