The International School of Journalism is a dynamic and rapidly growing division of our university, established in 2023 in collaboration with the TV and Radio Complex of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the country’s leading media holding. This partnership provides students with a unique opportunity to learn from seasoned journalists and gain hands-on experience through internships at top national TV channels and radio stations. Currently, the School offers two specialised educational programmes: “Journalism: Analytics and Investigations” and “International Journalism.”

Mission

Students at the International School of Journalism have priority access to the newly renovated Media Hub and Media Lab, which are equipped with state-of-the-art LCD screens, brand-new computers, and ergonomic workstations. These spaces feature cutting-edge information technologies, including multimedia equipment, data visualisation applications, audiovisual editing and production systems, as well as content management and web-publishing tools. Additionally, the upgraded MNU Library provides access to a wide range of editing software, video equipment, and a fully equipped technical support service.

Our mission is to become a leading institution in training highly skilled journalists, equipping them with expertise in reporting, analysis, and broadcasting while upholding core journalistic values such as truthfulness, accuracy, independence, honesty, objectivity, and accountability.

Committee on Academic Quality, Research and Ethics

The International School of Journalism has the smallest faculty and student body. Therefore, currently one joint Committee performs tasks on ensuring academic quality, monitoring the quality of educational programmes and compliance with academic policies, standards, and regulations of the University, as well as on resolving conflicts related to violations of ethical standards in research activities.
